Welcome to the Train Wreck Open - the strongman competition where countryside meets grit, trains meet brute strength, and athletes show what they’re truly capable of. Whether you’re competing, spectating, shouting, or simply here for the experience - you’re part of the wreck.

THE EVENTS

The Train Wreck Open is a full-day strongman showcase in a truly unique setting. Expect iconic kit, classic events, stunning scenery, and an atmosphere that brings out the absolute best in every athlete.

Pressing Medley

No grip tops.
Athletes start 1m away from implements.
75 second time limit.
Axle - M115kg W45kg
Natural Stone - M80kg W40kg (approx)
Block - M95kg
MDB - W27.5kg
Railway Sleeper - M110kg W50kg (approx)
Lumberjack Carry

A 30-meter carry (15m out, turn, 15m back) with a log on one shoulder and a farmer's handle in the opposite hand.
Athletes start 1m away from the implements.
No grip tops. Drop as many times as you like. Turn or drop and turn, up to you as long as your foot crosses the line.
90 second time limit.
M - 90kg(tbc) Log & 100kg Farmers
W - 50kg(tbc) Log & 45kg Farmers
Arm-Over-Arm Train Cart Pull

Fastest time wins. 75 second time limit. Chalk allowed. No tacky or sticky substances - hands will be checked.
Set your feet, settle in, and haul a real railway cart down the track.

Cross / Shield Carry

20-meters fast as you can. Althletes start 1m away from the implement. 60 second time limit. No drops. Women start from a stump.
140kg Cross for the Men
80kg Shield for the Women
Stone Throw

Best of 2 throws.
You'll be in a 2 meter box. You must remain in the box until the stone has hit the floor.
Pure explosive strength. Launch with intent and let technique do the work.

Mystery Event

Revealed on the day. Fair, fun, and designed to test well-rounded ability.
